First Collaborative Research Paper Published! Click here to read more.

Abstract Bodyworks Newbury started a collaborative research programme with Southampton Solent University Sports Department in January 2014. Teaming up with James Fisher and James Steele, Pat & Stephen McKinnon have proposed a number of research investigations that will demonstrate if and how the unique strength training exercise provided by Abstract Bodyworks world wide provides real and measurable health benefits to our clients.

The first research project looked at how little proper exercise had to be undertaken in order to achieve measured health benefits. Simply using the standard exercise protocols at Abstract Bodyworks and taking the body composition measures that are undertaken as a standard part of the exercise routines, Southampton Solent put together a paper that showed how much benefit "older adults" (over 50 years) could get from very limited exercise; click above to get a copy of the paper.

Further research projects are in hand with the next one due to be published in the second half of 2015. Watch this space for more details
